I’m a novice triathlete who completed his first race a few years ago. It was an indoor super sprint at Lifetime Fitness in Katy, TX. The race was difficult, and I was left unsatisfied. So, in 2018, without any training I completed a few sprint triathlons and a 10K road race.
The results were humbling. My mind and my ego were telling me to do things that my body was not prepared to execute. I needed to train!
So, in January of 2019, I decided to get a trainer and prepare to race in an Olympic distance triathlon. Three months into training I was feeling so good about my progress that I lost my damn mind and registered for the 2020 Ironman Texas! …because, why not?
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the big race has been postponed and I deferred my registration to 2021.
In the meantime, I am now registered for three half Ironman races and my first full-length race will be Ironman Florida, November 7, 2020.
This blog chronicles my journey.
