I write this blog – a series of letters to myself – to chronicle my journey of doing difficult things. The spark for this endeavor was my attempt to come out of a dark period in my life. I was overweight, feeling emotionally flat, and struggling with important relationships. On top of that, I’d just experienced a failed business and I was grappling with feelings of failure and self-worth.

Instinctively, I knew that doing something very hard would require me to focus my mind, body, and spirit in a way that would force them all into alignment. Triathlons are what I chose, and Ironman Texas 2020 became my ludicrous goal. I didn’t think I could do it, but I decided to go after it anyway.

I don’t want to lose the lessons along the way, so I share many of them here.

Feel free to leave a comment or send an email with your thoughts, I’d love to hear from you.
