I’m absolutely filled with happiness and gratitude that I am able begin my day with a swim on the Ironman Kona course (Kailua Bay, HI). The water was clear and warm with reef fish 🐠 everywhere 🙌🏽 😀.
It was fun being out there and imagining how it would feel swimming with the best triathletes in the world…🤔.
Finished the morning with some time on a trainer 😒.

Welp, I’m pretty bummed about today’s ride. I eagerly joined a local group ride up to Kokee State Park (~4000 ft climb over 15 miles). They even provided a bike, shoes helmet and nutrition 🙏🏾. All I had to do was show up and turn the cranks.
Everything was going well until it wasn’t 🤢. About 1500 feet into the climb I got very nauseous. I pulled over to let my stomach do it’s thing 🤮 but it was to no avail. I rode a little longer and things were only getting worse… today wasn’t my day #humblepie 🥧.
I probably could have suffered through and continued the climb, but I was there for a joyous, beautiful and social ride. So, I let them know that I was done. One of them graciously rode back to the parking with me lot to make sure I was good. Other than having my tail between my legs and a sour stomach I felt fine. Just embarrassed as hell.
A setback is a setup for a comeback, right?
I’m not done…I’ll be back 🚴🏽!!
